Does Kioku send my conversations to a server?

No. Free tier is 100% local — IndexedDB in your browser. Pro users opt into AI auto-tagging which sends conversation snippets to Anthropic's Claude API for tagging only. You can disable this anytime, and we never store your conversations on our servers.

Are my old conversations imported automatically?

No. Kioku only captures conversations as you have them. To import an existing chat, just open it once after installing — Kioku will save it within a second.

What happens if I uninstall?

Your data is in your browser's IndexedDB. Uninstalling the extension does not auto-delete it, but you'll lose access. Export everything to Markdown or JSON before uninstalling, just in case.

Why do I need a Pro plan?

The free tier covers 50 conversations. If you use ChatGPT/Claude/Gemini daily, you'll hit that limit in a month. Pro removes the limit, adds AI auto-tagging, and unlocks full-text search across message bodies (free is title + tags only).

Does Kioku work on Firefox / Safari?

Not yet. Chrome and Chromium-based browsers (Edge, Brave, Arc, Opera) are supported. Firefox is on the roadmap. Safari is unlikely due to extension API differences.

Can I use Kioku for ChatGPT Team or Enterprise?

Yes — Kioku works with any chatgpt.com / claude.ai / gemini.google.com URL regardless of your account type. Be aware your IT department may have policies about browser extensions; check before installing on work devices.
